Mochi is a Japanese rice cake made of mochigome, and sometimes other ingredients such as water, sugar, and cornstarch. Mochigome is a short-grain japonica glutinous rice.
Mochi is basically known for its chewy texture. Traditionally, mochi is filled with sweet red bean paste. But in modern version, it is filled with a scoop of ice cream turning it into mochi ice cream. Many other fruit and cream fillings are used to make it even more delicious.
